Italian is a romance language spoken in many countries and among many communities all over the world. The development and spreading of Italian is intertwined with a fascinating history of migration and coming together, but also more violent processes of colonisation and nationalisation. In this course we will explore the basics of Italian language through the value of international solidarities and radical pedagogy.

​For this beginners' Italian course, no prior knowledge is needed. You will develop a familiarity with sounds in Italian and basic communication skills in the present and past tense. After ten sessions you will be able to talk about yourself and others, describe basic everyday life situations, express your interests and passions, ask and answer simple questions.

The course also offers insight into the diversity of historical and social occurrences that have informed modern Italian.

The course will be taught by Margherita from Italy. Margherita has been teaching Italian for many years.
